I made 50,000 words written across all my stories a few days ago. Yay!
I’ve also decided to derail myself a bit by reorganising the story structures of several different projects, which means that I will have fewer books to write in the end… if I ever get there.
I amazed my offspring when I wrote 350 words on Tuesday morning. He doesn’t seem to grasp the scale of books with no pictures in; he’d probably struggle with the idea that the chapter books he reads now have a few thousand words in them. I compare that to my usual reading, which ranges from 40,000 words for a romance to 350,000 for a fantasy. Most of what I’ve consumed lately falls at around 200,000 – plenty for a sci-fi.
