NaNoWriMo 2016 – Day 30

08:31 – Did quite well yesterday, then went to bed and spent a couple of hours mentally developing one of my sci-fis (which I’ve now designated as Space Fantasy because I can’t think of a logical reason for the FTL to work the way it does). Today: 2,716 words to hit 60k. I hit that, I can shout and dance around… and then do the next four phases tomorrow. And repeat until I hit the end.

It’s rather depressing when you look at it that way – the excitement of achievement in NaNo is going to be conspicuously absent until I finish the entire story… at which point I’m probably going to be so sick of it I put it away for a long time. On the other hand, I have another one to be getting on with at that point.

An aspiring writer’s work is never done.

17:21 – This evening, I stupidly promised to do proper cooking (i.e. not just heating up things from the freezer), so there goes an hour or so of wording time. As it stands, I’m going to have to knuckle down and blast through whatever I can. Maybe take my laptop upstairs away from distractions and write in bed?

Nesh me approves this message.
